AMPLAB makes fun electric stuff, and this is the first one. A full-size electric kart made for going sideways, with a 5 kW peak mid-mounted motor driving a live rear axle, a hydraulic disc brake and a vertical hydraulic handbrake to start and hold a slide.
A 60V 30Ah LiFePO4 pack with CATL cells gives around 60 km between charges. Plug it in overnight and it's ready again in the morning.
